12:55AM I cleaned all day and told ♡ that they would gag when they saw how clean it was. I forgot saying this until we arrived at the apartment door and ♡ prepared: "Ok, I’m gonna close my eyes."

That’s when I realized how absurd it was. The apartment had barely changed. I had meticulously arranged objects from one overflowing kitchen shelf into a sculpture. It took all day and I also photographed the things at various stages, and got distracted by other projects too. I was embarrassed.

And yet, my subtle tweaks to the apartment had been working. My obsessive tidying had led to new storage solutions, letting go of a few things, and generally clean surfaces.

♡ walked into the tiny morning kitchen with sunlight and coffee coming in. It feels bigger in here, they said.

It is! I yelped, almost jumping out of excitement.
